MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Information about the rules foreign citizens are supposed to follow as they enter and stay in Belarus during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 is available on the website of the Minsk City Police Department, BelTA has learned.
Foreign fans can enter Belarus without visas and stay in the country if they have a hardcopy ticket or a digital ticket for sport events of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. The option will be available from 10 June through 10 July.
Foreigners, who temporarily stay in the country for more than five days, are supposed to register with police except for citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Kazakhstan. Foreign fans, who stay in a private apartment, are supposed to get registered within five days with the citizenship and migration office in the district of Minsk where the apartment is located. In order to get registered, they need a registration application, a document valid for traveling abroad, a certificate of insurance, and a document to confirm they have paid for the registration procedure. Foreign guests staying at Minsk hotels and hostels do not need to personally seek registration. Personnel of the hotels and hostels will do that for their guests.
Foreigners, who temporarily stay in Belarus, can also get digital registration on the website portal.gov.by. This kind of registration is free of charge and is available to the fans, who enter the country via checkpoints at the border. Foreigners coming from Russia will have to personally go to the nearest citizenship and migration office of their local police department for registration. Addresses of these offices are available on the website of the Minsk City Police Department.
If foreign citizens lose a passport, they are advised to contact the police department they are registered with and afterwards their embassy to confirm their citizenship. If a passport gets stolen or some other crime against a foreign citizen is committed, foreigners are advised to contact the nearest police station or any police officer or report the crime by dialing 102. Foreigners are advised to wait for the arrival of police officers at the crime scene.More about Society
