First Lady of Zimbabwe visits Belarusian Bellakt

VOLKOVYSK, 10 April (BelTA) – First Lady of Zimbabwe Auxillia Mnangagwa is on a visit to Grodno Oblast of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The First Lady paid a visit to the infant nutrition company Bellakt. “It is a great honor to host such a distinguished guest in Grodno. It is symbolic that our meeting is taking place on the eve of the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Our countries have a rich history and very good relations. I am confident that the best is ahead for our countries. This concerns both the country in general and Grodno Oblast in particular,” Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Karanik said as he welcomed Auxillia Mnangagwa.

According to the governor, the two countries have been recently showing good results in the development of economic cooperation. “The volume of contracts signed has already reached tens of millions of U.S. dollars. I believe that we have great potential for the development of humanitarian cooperation. As a former Healthcare Minister, I appreciate the work of your Angel of Hope Foundation. Your efforts to preserve the health of women and children and to improve their living conditions is worthy of all respect. As an oncologist, I see your project to vaccinate girls against HPV as a very serious step toward preservation of women's health," he added.

Vladimir Karanik stressed that Bellakt has a very rich history, and has done a lot for the health of young citizens of Belarus. "I very much hope that this visit will be useful and interesting for you and that you will find our best practices helpful both in terms of development of Zimbabwe in general and preservation of the life and health of your citizens," he concluded.

"It all started with the visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Zimbabwe. Our relations should develop further. Our friendship will be growing stronger as our economic cooperation picks up pace. I am visiting this factory to study your experience, because our country is having certain problems with infant formulas. I came here not only as the first lady of my country, but also as the mother of the whole nation," Auxillia Mnangagwa emphasized.
