Molodechno, 25 June (BelTA) - Strengthening of family and spiritual values remains the primary focus area for the Belarusian Union of Women, Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Marianna Shchetkina said during a visiting session of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Women (BUW) in Molodechno on 23 June, BelTA has learned.
Being the national coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals Marianna Shchetkina reported on the work being done. According to the international experts Belarus is taking all necessary measures, including for the medium and long term, at the government level. In general, according to Marianna Shchetkina, the system-based joint work at the government level is very important, and the Belarusian Union of Women makes a significant contribution to these efforts.
The visiting session was dedicated to the projects of the Minsk regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Women aimed at sustainable development. Emphasis is placed on the initiatives that have social significance, such as improving the status of women in the society, promoting the patriotic and moral education for young people, family values and motherhood, and a healthy lifestyle.
Members of the BUW Board and also the chairpersons of the BUW regional organizations studied the experience of the Molodechno district organization of the Belarusian Union of Women. The women got acquainted with the work of the primary organizations of the union at enterprises and institutions.
They also took part in the opening of the arts plein air Molodechno Art 2018 dedicated to the Year of Native Land featuring the artists from Belarus, Russia, China, Ukraine, Lithuania and India. Initiator and inspirer of the project is the Chairperson of the Minsk regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Women Svetlana Soroko, who, when speaking at the opening ceremony, stressed the role of cultural interaction in uniting people of different countries. Molodechno hosts many cultural events of the national importance and representative of the Belarusian Union of Women make their contribution to them too.
