MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The experience of Belarusian volunteers is in demand among young foreigners, BelTA learned from Roman Mamchenko, a coordinator of the volunteer movement of the Belarusian republican youth union BRSM.
A Belarusian delegation is taking part in an international youth forum on volunteering for the sake of encouraging reading in the CIS space. The forum is taking place in Dushanbe, Kazakhstan. The forum has gathered together representatives of volunteer organizations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
During the plenary session “Times change and reading changes with us” Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization Yulia Shinkorenko made a presentation titled as “BRPO – We read as we play”. The colleagues were particularly interested in the contest “We will never forget: Grandchildren about war” and the pioneer experience of organization of literature quizzes. “I think representatives of some countries will arrange similar projects in their own organizations,” Roman Mamchenko said.
A coordinator of the BRSM's volunteer movement told young foreigners about the Kind Heart movement. A presentation of volunteering activities took place as part of the forum on 26 June. “We have something worth showing and worth sharing. For instance, representatives of Moldova showed interest in our project ‘All paints of life for yourself' and the volunteer's book. And I drew attention to Kazakhstan's project Kind Kopeck. It is similar to our ‘All paints of life for yourself'. I am glad that in many countries volunteers pay so much attention to helping sick kids,” Roman Mamchenko said.
He went on saying that Editor-in-Chief of the Znamya Yunosti newspaper Nikolai Machekin will make a presentation about the newspaper during the forum on 27 June.More about Society
