Europe names second ten Eurovision 2019 finalists

TEL AVIV, 17 May (BelTA) – Europe has chosen the last ten qualifiers for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final in Tel Aviv, BelTA has learned.

The second semi-final took place in Expo Tel Aviv on 16 May. Artists from North Macedonia, the Netherlands, Albania, Sweden, Russia, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, and Malta made it through to the final.

Other Grand Final qualifiers are representatives of Belarus, Greece, Serbia, Cyprus, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Australia, Iceland, San Marino, and Slovenia. The line-up is completed with the Big Five (Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, and Spain) and Israel as the host country. Thus, a total of 26 countries will compete to be crowned the winner.

The final is scheduled for 18 May. It will be broadcast live by Belarus 1 TV channel and Belarus 24 international satellite channel.

Israel is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time. The last two times were in 1979 and 1999. This year the contest is held under the motto Dare To Dream.
