MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Belarus is set to prepare draft agreements on visa facilitation and readmission with the European Union by the end of the year, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry Aleksei Begun told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is now busy with domestic procedures to prepare the agreements on visa facilitation and readmission for signing with the European Union. There is a possibility that by the yearend these procedures will be completed and we will be officially authorized to engage in talks and to sign these documents as we have agreed on,” Aleksei Begun said. He added that the agreements will come into force after the exchange of ratification documents or after completing domestic ratification procedures.
The negotiations on visa facilitation and readmission were formally launched in January 2014. The two agreements are to be signed simultaneously.
