
MOSCOW, 6 December (BelTA) – A meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Competent Authorities of the CSTO Member States on Combating Illegal Migration took place in Yerevan on 6 December, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.
“The meeting was attended by delegations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states and the CSTO Secretariat. Members of the Coordination Council discussed the migration situation and changes in migration laws in the CSTO member states. They assessed the measures to counter illegal migration in the CSTO as effective, in particular the Nelegal 2022 operation,” the spokesman said.
The Russian delegation informed the attendees about Russia's efforts to help people arriving from the territory of Ukraine.
“A decision was made to hold the next meeting of the Coordination Council in the second half of 2023. The meeting is to be hosted by the Republic of Belarus that will chair the CSTO in 2023,” the spokesman added.
