MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Belarusians value good and mutually beneficial cooperation with the neighboring countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Latvia Vasily Markovich told BelTA commenting on the address of Aleksandr Lukashenko to Belarusian people and the National Assembly.

The president emphasized in his speech that Belarus will keep addressing international issues solely in a peaceful way. “In my view, this is a key thesis of the foreign policy part of the address. This confirms the peaceful nature of Belarusian people. We, Belarusians, learn to understand the value of a human life, love for parents, native land and the country in general since an early age. We value good and mutually beneficial relations with our neighbors: Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Lithuanians and Latvians. We are ready to lend a helping hand to our neighbors when they need it and celebrate their successes together with them,” Vasily Markovich said.

According to the diplomat, numerous wars taking place on our land shaped the Belarusian character. “Belarusians always plucked up their spirits to restore their towns and villages, give birth to and raise their children loving Belarus. I hope that the younger generation will be better, smarter and more successful than us,” the ambassador concluded.
