MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – A meeting with the defense attaché of the Embassy of Lithuania in Belarus took place under the auspices of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Belarusian Defense Ministry on 24 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry's Telegram channel.

During the meeting the Lithuanian defense attaché was informed that the Belarusian state border in air space was violated from the Lithuanian side on 23 August. The Belarusian side voiced a protest. The violation was stopped by a Mi-24 helicopter of the Belarusian army.

The message reads that the Belarusian army possesses evidence acquired using objective control equipment and can prove the helicopter stayed strictly in the Belarusian air space. The Belarusian side hopes that the statement of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the alleged violation of the Lithuanian air space by the Belarusian helicopter will be proved by evidence without ties to political considerations.
