MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – The Days of Turkmenistan Culture in Belarus is a common contribution to strengthening friendship between the two nations, Belarus Culture Minister Yuri Bondar said at a solemn opening ceremony at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall, BelTA has learned.
The culture minister noted that in recent years Belarus-Turkmenistan cooperation gained momentum across many areas. The positive dynamics is attributed mostly to the friendly relations between the heads of state of Belarus and Turkmenistan.
“As you know, culture is the best way to build and strengthen ties between people and nations. It paves the way for other types of cooperation. It is for a reason that the term ‘cultural diplomacy' is used in political parlance more often now. There is no doubt that the Days of Turkmenistan Culture that are underway in Belarus will become another milestone in the history of our cultural contacts and will be our common contribution to the friendship between the two countries,” Yuri Bondar said. He expressed hope that the Turkmenistan delegation will enjoy their stay in Belarus.
A concert of Turkmenistan artists took place in the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall on 17 October. Visitors to the concert could also see an exposition of folk arts and crafts.
