MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – The Days of Chinese Culture in Belarus will run from 31 August till 4 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Culture Ministry.
The solemn opening ceremony of the Days of Chinese Culture will be held in the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus on 2 September. The theater will host two performances of the opera Women Generals of the Yang Family by the China National Peking Opera Company.
Belarus and China signed the agreement on cultural cooperation in November 1992, the agreement to set up the Belarus-China intergovernmental cooperation committee in September 2014, and the agreement to open cultural centers on a mutual basis in May 2015. In May 2017, the Belarusian Culture Ministry signed an agreement with China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
One of the key areas of Belarus-China cooperation is arranging Belarusian and Chinese culture days. The countries hosted such events in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017.
