CSTO: Work continues on draft resolution on sending monitoring mission to Armenia

MOSCOW, 21 November (BelTA) - Work continues on the CSTO Collective Security Council's draft resolution on sending a monitoring mission to Armenia, BelTA learned from the CSTO Secretariat.

"In accordance with the action plan in furtherance of the decisions of the November (2022) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and Belarus' chairmanship guidelines, two documents related to the stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus have been in the works so far. These include the CSTO Collective Security Council's draft resolution ‘On joint measures to provide assistance to the Republic of Armenia' and the statement by the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states in support of efforts to achieve peace in this region,” the CSTO Secretariat said in a comment in connection with publications in a number of media.

"In the run-up to the upcoming CSTO events in Minsk, Armenia asked to withdraw the draft statement from the agenda. Work continues on the draft resolution by the CSTO Collective Security Council on sending a monitoring mission to Armenia and on the provision of other practical measures," the CSTO Secretariat emphasized.
