CSTO states agree on Nelegal Operation plan

MOCSOW, 30 March (BelTA) - A plan for the CSTO regional operation Nelegal to combat illegal migration in 2023 has been agreed upon, CSTO spokesperson Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA following the meeting of the international headquarters of the CSTO regional operation Nelegal held on 30 March. The meeting was chaired by Secretary of the CSTO Coordinating Council of the heads of the competent bodies of the CSTO member states on combating illegal migration, Chief of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Valentina Kazakova.

“Representatives of the national headquarters of the CSTO member states discussed in detail the concept of the operation under the code name Nelegal 2023 and agreed on the stages of active measures in the current year. In addition, the participants of the meeting also coordinated and agreed upon measures to coordinate interaction during the operation, defined the channels of communication and procedure of information exchange,” the spokesperson said.

Attending the meeting were representatives of all national headquarters of the CSTO member states involved in the Nelegal Operation, employees of the CSTO Secretariat and representatives of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, state security and financial monitoring bodies.
