MOSCOW, 2 April (BelTA) – The information security cooperation agreement of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states has come into force, BelTA learned from the CSTO website.
“On 1 April 2019, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan enacted the information security cooperation agreement of the CSTO member states, which was signed on 30 November 2017,” the website reads.
The agreement aims to step up cooperation between the member states to ensure information security within the CSTO. According to the document, the parties agreed to strengthen interdepartmental cooperation, improve mechanisms of responding to threats in the information sphere, carry out joint practical activities aimed to enhance information security and fight illegal activity in the information space of the CSTO member states. The parties will also lend each other assistance to develop technology base for information security, work to facilitate development and speedy adoption of universal rules, norms, and principles of responsible behavior of the countries in the information space under the UN auspices.
