MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) - Despite the unprecedented pressure on Belarus and Russia, the cooperation between the prosecutor general's offices of the two countries is reliable, Belarusian Prosecutor General Andrei Shved said at a meeting of the joint collegium of the Prosecutor General's Offices of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
"The joint collegium of our offices has been a unique platform for more than 10 years to discuss pressing issues and to ensure the rule of law in our countries," Andrei Shved said. “It is especially important that despite the unprecedented pressure, attempts to discredit our states and distort historical events that are important to our fraternal peoples, our cooperation remains firm and reliable."
He noted that the cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of Belarus and Russia has been comprehensive and dynamic. "The special role of the Prosecutor General's Offices has been repeatedly noted by the heads of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation," Andrei Shved said. “The watchdog agencies are at the forefront of the law enforcement bloc, coordinate law enforcement and fight against corruption, solve vital tasks to protect rights and the state."
Today's meeting reviewed the cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Belarus and Russia in prevention, detection and solving of crimes related to security violations in the field of information and communication technologies. “Combating ICT crimes is impossible without close international cooperation, exchange of best professional experience, operational work and execution of requests for legal assistance,” Andrei Shved noted. "I am sure that we will preserve the well-established traditions of interaction between our offices.”
