MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – The situation with semi-trailer trucks trying to leave Latvia and enter Belarus is complicated, BelTA has learned.

The State Border Committee of Belarus said: “Our subscribers keep submitting videos that show the real situation with truck queues on the other side of the border. This time there is a situation on the Latvian road at the border crossing Paternieki (Grigorovshchina on the Belarusian side).”

The line of trucks waiting on the Latvian side for their turn to enter Belarus is now 10km long. The drivers say that virtually no vehicles are being cleared for transit at premises of the border crossing Paternieki since trucks are forced to stay behind the boom gate. The Belarusian border service believes it once again confirms the fact that control agencies of neighboring countries have artificially created havoc at the border. The State Border Committee of Belarus said: “Send videos about unordinary situations, opinions of truckers or personnel of the agencies about reasons behind the queues to our bot.”
