MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – The Communications and Informatization Ministry develops information and communication technologies for the sake of national security together with signal troops and the Defense Ministry. Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan made the statement as the international expo National Security. Belarus 2022 opened in Minsk on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
After visiting the main booths of the expo Konstantin Shulgan noted that in the modern world national security is directly connected to information security and it is one of the key avenues of development right now. In his words, the communications industry may later use the technologies showcased during the expo. Apart from that, the Communications and Informatization Ministry closely cooperates with signal troops as well as the Defense Ministry for the sake of managing the radio frequency spectrum allocation and developing information and communication technologies in the ministry as part of the government program on digital development of Belarus.
The national telecommunication company Beltelecom is run by the Communications and Informatization Ministry. The company took part in the expo and presented the CCTV surveillance project Videocontrol. Visitors can evaluate the CCTV service's user interface, test additional options, and get consultations.
The expo features various topical sections such as systems for the antiterrorism protection of installations and facilities, special hardware for law enforcement agencies and special services, solutions for industrial safety, ecological safety, and epidemiological safety. The expo's scientific and business program includes conferences, seminars, roundtable sessions, during which experts are expected to discuss conditions of industrial and scientific and technical development as well as international cooperation in the sphere of national security.
The expo is taking place in Minsk Arena and will last through 25 June.
