CIS observer praises good organization of parliamentary elections in Belarus

MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Elections in Belarus are very well-organized, there are no complaints from fellow observers. The statement was made by the CIS observer Vladimir Krugly on the air of the Belarusian TV channel ONT, BelTA has learned.

The observer said: “The elections are very well-organized. Since morning my colleague and I have been to 15 polling stations. We saw no signs of election campaigning. All the conditions for casting votes were available at the polling stations. We've seen no violations. I would like to mention the festive mood at all the polling stations. It means a lot to me.”

“There are many observers watching these elections. I've come across them often. There were many observers sent by the OSCE. When asked whether they had any remarks, they said everything was all right,” Vladimir Krugly said. He added that he was present at the same polling stations together with observers from Poland and Italy. For them it was unusual that music was playing at the polling stations and people were coming to cast their votes as if it was some party but no violations were mentioned.
