CIS donates subbotnik funds to Belarusian research center for pediatric oncology

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) - The CIS Executive Committee has donated funds earned during the national cleanup day (aka subbotnik) to the National Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

"Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee visited the center to give a money transfer certificate, and also books and goods for art. The campaign was held for the 13th time. The money will be spent on the needs of the center,” the press service noted.

The National Research Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology opened in 1997 thanks to the joint efforts of the Belarusian and Austrian governments, and the Austrian humanitarian organization Hilfswerk. The center includes a clinic, a scientific department and auxiliary medical and diagnostic units. Thanks to the use of modern diagnostic and treatment protocols and high-tech methods, the center has achieved the results on par with the world's leading research centers. The center caters to children from Belarus and other CIS states.
