Chinese mycologists show interest in Belarusian mushrooms

BREST, 17 October (BelTA) – Chinese mycologists will give a lecture on Polyporaceae at the Palessie State University in Pinsk on 17 October, BelTA learned from associated professor with the Department of Biotechnologies at the Palessie State University, Candidate of Biology Sciences Evgeny Yurchenko.

Chinese specialists will talk about mushrooms used in traditional Chinese medicine and share their expertise in the area.

“This theme is interesting for us. We have scientific areas of common interest. Assistance from world-renowned specialists is important to us,” Evgeny Yurchenko said.

The lecture will be given for students and the academic staff of the Department of Biotechnologies.

The delegation of Chinese mycologists is expected to visit Belarusian forests to conduct small research and replenish their Polyporaceae collections. The Chinese specialists have already been to the Svisloch-Berezina National Park and the Pripyat National Park. They are expected to visit Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
