MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - About 130 organizations took part in the charity campaign Our Children this season, Yelena Simakova, deputy head of the Department of Social, Educational and Ideological Work at the Education Ministry, told the media, BelTA has learned.
"This year about 130 organizations contributed to the Our Children campaign. They visited and provided assistance to institutions and organizations. As a rule, they also provide help within the framework of the International Children's Day, the Day of Persons with Disabilities. They assist in preparing for the new school year, and so on. Today we can already talk about the established tradition. The Our Children campaign is just a good opportunity to make this tradition more visible to the public of our country. As we planned, more than 20,000 children took part in the campaign at the national level. In total, more than 1 million children were covered by the events of the campaign across the country. The exact figures will be voiced soon as the Education Ministry will report to the government about the results of the campaign," Yelena Simakova noted.
The partner of the charity event this year was traditionally the Belarusian Children's Fund. "The fund supported the government and bodies of state administration, produced advertising posters which were placed in vehicles, in Minsk, in regional centers. Also, commercials were made for television, which made it possible to attract the attention of not only organizations and enterprises, but also citizens of our country to this campaign. Therefore, every Belarusian had a chance to take part in this campaign, and it acquired a truly charitable character," Yelena Simakova said.
According to the representative of the Education Ministry, the main event of the Our Children campaign was a charity children's show with the participation of the head of state, which took place in the Palace of the Republic on 29 December 2022. "The New Year's performance ‘Constellation of the Bison' was also attended by 48 children from Lisichansk, who are undergoing rehabilitation in Novopolotsk. Thus, the campaign has spilled beyond the borders of our country," Yelena Simakova concluded.
