Children from Gorlovka thank Belarus for warm welcome

GOMEL, 26 December (BelTA) - "Thank you, Belarus, for your kindness. Thank you for comfort and peace," said Nikita Pastushenko, a teenager from Gorlovka, who holidayed in the Zolotye Peski sanatorium in Gomel District, BelTA has learned.

On 26 December, 37 children from Gorlovka, their mothers and accompanying persons went home after a two-week recuperation trip to Belarus. Before the departure they had a warm meeting with senior officials of Gomel Oblast, the city of Gomel, representatives of organizations and enterprises, and schoolchildren of the region. Vice Governor Dmitry Aleinikov stressed that the region has done everything to shower the children with warmth and care, to give positive impressions and emotions. "I hope you liked your stay in Gomel Oblast and you will have warm memories of the Gomel land for many years to come," he said.

Dmitry Aleinikov noted that the New Year. the long-awaited holiday for everyone, will arrive soon. Dmitry Aleinikov wished the children from the Donbass and their parents well-being and happiness.

As a token of gratitude, the children from Gorlovka sang a song and recited poems of their own composition about faith in a brighter future and holidays in Belarus.

Nikita Pastushenko thanked Belarus in his poetic lines for hospitality, the opportunity to make friends and spend good time.

He added that the children will take to the Donbass the wonderful memories of the peaceful Belarus.

On behalf of the Gorlovka children and their parents, coordinator of the group Yana Vasilyeva once again thanked the Aleksey Talai Foundation, the administration of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the Gomel City Executive Committee, the regional association of trade unions, the Union of Employers, all involved organizations, enterprises, and ordinary people for the opportunity to come to Belarus for recuperation and recreation. “Thank you for the great entertainment and unforgettable impressions. Thank you for giving our children an opportunity to feel what a real childhood is. Thank you for their happy eyes, smiles and joyful laughter. The world is no good without good people. We got a chance to see that such simple but valuable words are truth. Thank you very much for your support, sympathy, and involvement in the lives of the residents of Gorlovka,” said Yana Vasilyeva. She conveyed gratitude from the Gorlovka administration. Yuliya Malova, a representative of the Aleksei Talai Charitable Foundation in Gomel Oblast, also conveyed gratitude to those who helped make the holidays for children in Donbass unforgettable.

“The vacation went great. Here is nature, and no horrible sounds that we have at home. The food was delicious, health recuperation services were good. There was a very interesting program, including excursions, New Year's performances and even an ice hockey match,” 11-year-old Sasha Stupakov shared his impressions. He came to the Zolotye Peski sanatorium together with his twin brother, older sister and grandmother.

“There are no forests in Gorlovka, and here we saw what a real forest is,” his brother Misha added.

“You have a nice country. I would like to come back here again,” 12-year-old Maksim Marchuk said.
