Center for Virology to open at Belarus' National Academy of Sciences

MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - The Center for Virology will soon open at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov told a press conference on 24 January, BelTA has learned.

“We have finished the establishment of the Center for Virology at the Academy of Sciences. We are going to open it together with the Healthcare Ministry in the near future. We are now installing the equipment. According to estimates, it will be one of the best virology centers in the world. We will be ready to produce vaccines against any diseases, not only against COVID-19, but also, for example, against influenza. Besides. who knows what lies ahead of us. We must be ready to develop any medications to protect our people. The Center for Virology has been set up for this purpose,” said Vladimir Gusakov.

In his words, Belarus has developed a number of breakthrough medications. The latest developments are on display at the ongoing Intellectual Belarus expo in BelExpo.
