BSU to host international online conference on horticulture

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – The international research conference “Biologically active preparations for horticulture. Scientific basis – recommendations – practical results” will be held on the educational portal of Belarusian State University (BSU) on 22 October, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

“The research conference will be held on the BSU educational portal edubio.bsu.by. The event is aimed at solving issues related to improving production capacity, soil fertility, and plant protection. Dean of BSU Faculty of Biology Vadim Demidchik, Professor of the daRostim private institute of applied biology Wolfgang Nowick (Germany), and Head of the BSU Research Institute of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Irina Feklistova will address the participants of the conference,” the press service said.

The event will bring together around 100 scientists, researchers, university teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Germany. The scientists will demonstrate new biologically active preparations for horticulture, present their experience of using them, exchange recent information about eco-friendly farming practices, plant protection with biological preparations, and ways to reduce the use of pesticides. They are also set to discuss peculiarities of legislation on the production of organic horticulture products in Eastern Europe and Western Europe.

Moreover, the conference will feature presentations of research in genetics and selective breeding by Belarusian school students who are engaged in research at the National Center of Ecology and Local History.

A collection of scientific papers from the event in Russian and English will be published after the conference.

The organizers of the conference are the BSU Faculty of Biology, the Private Institute of Applied Biology daRostim, and the Agency for International Transfer of Technology, Education, and Science daRostim.
