BSU to host conference on environmental issues

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The two-day international research conference for young scientists, undergraduate and postgraduate students “Modern environmental issues” will kick off in Belarusian State University (BSU) on 19 November, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

The event will be held both online and offline. The opening ceremony of the conference will be streamed live on YouTube.

The conference will bring together more than 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students, young scientists, and employees of universities, research organizations, and enterprises from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Turkey. The participants will include representatives of the BSU, Minsk State Linguistic University, the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Russia's ITMO University, the University of Gdansk (Poland), Ternopil National Medical University (Ukraine), and the Center for Promising Economic Research of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The agenda of the conference includes modern social and environmental, ethical and pedagogical problems, matters of medical ecology, environmental and radioactive safety, environmental monitoring, management, and auditing. The discussions will be held in English.

The organizers of the research conference are the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of the BSU, the Belarusian Education Ministry, the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, and the Public Council of the CIS Ecological Education Base Organization.
