Bill on amendments to Belarus' Criminal Procedure Code to get first reading in Parliament

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) - The meeting of the eighth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation is due to take place on 12 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers intend to consider in the first reading the bills “On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Belarus” (on appeal and supervision proceedings), “On Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Belarus” (on special proceedings), the draft code on architectural, urban planning and construction activities, the bills “On regulating safety when using atomic energy”, “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Public-Private Partnership”, “On Amendments to the Laws on Government-Sponsored Social Insurance”.

The Belarusian lawmakers are also set to ratify a number of international treaties, including “On Ratification of the Protocol to Make Additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on Mutual Visa-Free Travels of Citizens of the Republic of Belarus and Citizens of the Republic of Armenia”, “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on Readmission".

The press service added that the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives together with the Information Ministry, the Belarusian Union of Journalists and the public organization Belaya Rus held a photo festival “Year of People's Unity”. The festival included three nominations (Belarus - Our Home, Sacred Memory and The Land of Our Concern). More than 70 highly artistic photos reflecting patriotism, labor achievements and love for the native land were chosen.

The exhibition presentation and award ceremony will be held in the foyer of the Oval Hall on 12 May.
