Belteleradiocompany among Belarus president's special prize recipients

MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – It is a great honor for the Belarusian State Television and Radio Company (Belteleradiocompany) to be awarded the special prize of the Belarusian president for the creative projects that promote the national culture of Belarus at home and abroad and for significant contribution to education of creative youth, Chairman of Belteleradiocompany Ivan Eismont told BelTA.

“Of course, it is a great honor for me personally and for all the staff. Belteleradiocompany is the biggest broadcaster in the country. We cover all major events. The company often acts as a co-organizer or a media partner of such events. They include, for example, the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival, the national festival of Belarusian song and poetry in Molodechno, and numerous regional and cultural festivals for adults and children,” Ivan Eismont said.

According to him, the European Broadcasting Union commended Belteleradiocompany for the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk that was held to the same standard as the adults' contest. “Before that people thought that children's song contests do nto merit so much attention. The head of the European Broadcasting Union noted that we reinvigorated the Junior Eurovision, brought it to a new level. Poland followed Belarus' example as it hosted the contest last year,” Ivan Eismont noted.

The Belarus 3 TV channel is a popular social and cultural TV channel in Belarus. “This is the country's only channel about culture and art. It has been doing quite well recently. We will continue improving it. Air time should be even busier and include more programs about Belarus. We intend to film more television plays. The company has purchased new equipment – mobile television studios – thanks to which we will be able to film modern Belarusian television plays. Of course, we have prepared a lot of surprises for our audience but I would rather not reveal all the secrets. We have a lot of plans because we are keen to develop,” Ivan Eismont added.
