BelTA's photos on display in National Art Gallery of Pakistan

MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – An exhibition Sovereign Belarus: People, Events, Achievements has opened in the National Art Gallery of Pakistan. The exhibition is made up of photos from BelTA's archives.

The exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Pakistan diplomatic relations as well as history, traditions, culture, and accomplishments of Belarus met a strong interest on the part of representatives of the general public, artistic intelligentsia, mass media, and the diplomatic corps accredited in Pakistan.

The exhibition's presentation in progress

During the solemn presentation ceremony BelTA Director General Irina Akulovich presented the main concept of the exhibition. She drew attention to the close ties between modern Belarus and the country's historic past. Yaqoob Sheikh, chairman of the Belarus-Pakistan parliamentary friendship group, addressed those present with a word of welcome on behalf of the Pakistan government.

In Islamabad Irina Akulovich met with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, political leaders and MPs.

An agreement on advancing cooperation in sharing information content and on diversifying it was reached with BelTA's media partner – the news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). With this in mind the sides updated the memorandum of understanding on information cooperation (the previous document was signed in 2015).
