MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The Information Center of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) has joined the nationwide campaign Single Safety Day which is running in Belarus from 20 February to 1 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
The BelNPP Information Center offers excursions for students of Ostrovets District schools. On 20 February, the information center was visited by students of the 5th-6th grades of the Vornyany nursery-kindergarten-secondary school. “The educational institution is located not far away from the future nuclear power plant and reliable information regarding the safety of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant is important for the students and teachers of the school,” the ministry said.
During the excursion around the BelNPP Information Center the school students got familiar with the main facilities of the nuclear power plant and their purpose. They also learned about safety systems envisaged by the BelNPP project, tried power generating bicycles and got BelNPP information booklets.
