“Russia has always featured large in our work. In the past, we performed around 100 flights to destinations in Russia. This figure about ten times smaller now. However, we are taking every effort to return to our usual flight schedule. Despite the current difficult situation, Belavia is also trying to offer new destinations to make it easier for people to return home, go on business trips, and plan their travels. We intend to launch new flights to Samara and Yekaterinburg in May. We hope that everything will work out. These cities boast rich history and unique atmosphere and offer great opportunities,” Belavia's Director General Igor Cherginets noted.

Belavia is the largest air carrier in Belarus. It was established on 5 March 1996. Belavia joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1997 and the European Regions Airline Association (ERAA) in 2010. At present, its fleet includes 29 aircraft (one Boeing 737-8, nine Boeing 737-800, two Boeing 737-500, three Boeing 737-300, five Embraer-175, seven Embraer-195, and two Embraer 195-E2).
