Belarusians invited to take part in Partnership for Sustainability Award 2020

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) - The UN Global Compact Network Ukraine in cooperation with the Belarusian network invited to take part in the Partnership for Sustainability Award 2020 competition. Applications in several categories will be open until 15 September, said Nadezhda Yushkevich, a leading communications specialist at the Dobro Local Social Fund and the UN Global Compact Network Belarus.

The competition aims to help promote the Sustainable Development Goals, foster partnerships between entrepreneurs, business associations, civil society, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions.

Thanks to the competition, organizations from Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Macedonia, Poland, and Turkey will have an opportunity to promote the social and environmental projects that have been implemented or underway through the combined efforts of different stakeholders. For example, this can be a business project with a local community or local government with a non-profit organization.

Winners will be named in four categories: Society (inclusion, education, youth empowerment, cultural diversity, gender equality, healthcare); Planet (environment, waste management, green energy, climate change, biodiversity protection, sustainable consumption, water management, sustainable supply chains); Peace (human rights, social security, promotion of peaceful dialogue, anti-corruption); Economic Development (economic growth, closed-loop economies, sustainable cities, infrastructure, green innovations, community development).

Each category will have a nomination of projects to mitigate the consequences of COVID-19.
