MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – Today Belarusians should get united in the face of the challenges and threats that exist in the world and around the country, BelTA learned from Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko. The official cast his vote early at polling station No.2 in Minsk's secondary school No.32, BelTA has learned.
Igor Sergeyenko said: “I traditionally opt for early voting due to my busy work schedule. I've cast my vote for the future of our country, for Belarus, for the development of the social programs, which are aimed at raising the wellbeing of our nation. This beautiful school is an example of our social policy. Several schools like that are opened in Belarus every year. Yes, the present is an unusual, complicated period of time and we should stand together as one nation, one people in the face of the challenges and threats that exist in the world and around our country. Just the way we became united in the face of the dreadful disease – COVID-19.”
Igor Sergeyenko noted he had been present when the head of state presented state awards upon medical workers earlier that day. “Over the course of half a year they've demonstrated genuine examples of heroism and selflessness. They've endured. They had to treat people in most complicated conditions. And today state awards were bestowed upon representatives of all regions: from nurses to head physicians and specialists, scientists – all those, who have made their own contribution. This is just the way everyone should do their jobs,” the head of the Belarus President Administration believes.
Igor Sergeyenko stressed that the country's future depends on the vote of every Belarusian today. “How our children will live, how various social programs will be implemented depend on it. Healthcare, culture, science, and most importantly economy depend on it. If the economy grows, assets will be appropriated for the sake of development of all capabilities of people. This is why the voice of every person is important in any electoral campaign, even more so in this campaign,” he added.
