Belarusian State University to host international olympiad in analytical economics

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarusian State University (BSU) will host the international olympiad in analytical economics and economic forecasting on 14 May, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

The olympiad will feature 14 teams of Belarusian, Russian, and Armenian universities: Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Economic University, Kupala State University of Grodno, the Armenian State University of Economics, and Russia's Orenburg State University, Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, and Penza State University.

The BSU will be represented by two teams from the Faculty of Economics.

The olympiad is meant to stimulate students' interest in economic subjects, support talented youth, and encourage their creativity. The olympiad will be held as a hybrid event.

The participants will have to solve problems in economic forecasting, optimization, modeling of economic processes, and marketing analytics as well as present results of their research projects. The teams will be judged by their answers and the quality of their presentations.

All in all, more than 20 student teams took part in the qualifications. Winners will be awarded diplomas and get presents from partners of the event.

The organizer is the Faculty of Economics of the BSU.
