Belarusian State University honors Egypt Parliament Speaker

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt Ali Abdel-Aal Sayed became Honorary Professor of the Belarusian State University (BSU). BSU Rector Andrei Korol gave the diploma and the mantle to the speaker in a ceremony in the university on 16 November, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.

The title of Honorary Professor of the Belarusian State University was awarded to Ali Abdel-Aal Sayed in recognition of his great personal contribution to the development of legal science and strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between Egypt and Belarus.

Speaking before the BSU Council, professors and students, the Egypt Parliament Speaker said that it was a great honor for him to become Honorary Professor of Belarus' leading university. Ali Abdel-Aal Sayed spoke about the main areas of development of Egypt, the overall social and political situation in his country and expressed the hope for closer cooperation between the two states.

During the meeting, Andrei Korol and Ali Abdel-Aal Sayed highlighted the importance of strengthening the inter-university cooperation. “The parties discussed the possibility of expanding the partnership, highlighted the role of universities in the development of the states and realization of humanistic ideas in society,” the press service informed. Currently, the BSU interacts with five Egyptian universities and companies.

Ali Abdel-Aal Sayed made an entry in the Book of Distinguished Guests and gave the BSU rector the medal “150th anniversary of the House of Representatives of Egypt”.
