MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarusian and Russian military are practicing the operation of the joint regional air defense system, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
According to the source, the operation of the Belarusian-Russian air defense system is practiced as part of the Belarusian-Russian tabletop exercise, which is scheduled to take place on 13-17 March and involves the joint command of the regional military taskforce, the Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Belarusian army, and the Aerospace Force Command of the Russian army. Improving interaction between various units is part of the exercise.
BelTA has been told that the Belarusian-Russian joint regional air defense system is constantly improved. The system can take care of security of western air space borders of Belarus and Russia in addition to allowing the two countries to exercise full control over air space usage.
