MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Railways carried over 491,000 passengers from 30 December 2019 to 7 January 2020, up 0.4% over the same period in the 2018/2019 season, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian Railways.
These figures apply to trains with seat reservation. Local trains carried nearly 289,900 passengers. International passenger traffic exceeded 201,300.
The press service emphasized that the company invested heavily in customer service and quality in 2019. The company kept renewing its rolling stock and purchased 30 passenger coaches. The company offered a new tariff policy and introduced a number of hi-tech solutions.
The company updated and expanded its website and developed an application for purchasing tickets on trains with and without seat reservation. In 2019, over 3 million e-tickets on trains with reserved seats were bought through the company's website.
