Belarusian publishing houses to take part in St. Petersburg Book Salon

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Seven Belarusian publishing houses will take part in the 14th St. Petersburg International Book Salon on 23-26 May, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Information Ministry.

Partaking in the event will be the following publishing houses: Belarus, Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia, Mastatskaya Litaratura, Vysheishaya Shkola, Narodnaya Asveta, Pachatkovaya Shkola, Zvyazda. They will feature the projects of 2018-2019. The focus will be on books about the 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazis, printed materials about the 2nd European Games, the Year of Native Land and birthday anniversaries of the outstanding Belarusian writers.

Apart from the presentations, the Belarusian stand will host talks on the supply of the Vysheishaya Shkola Publishing House e-content to St. Petersburg companies, and a roundtable at The Writer's Book Stall store where a section of the Belarusian book was opened in 2017.

The 14th St. Petersburg International Book Salon will take place at its traditional venue, Mikhailovsky Manege. Apart from the publishing houses of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the event will gather representatives of the book industry from 12 Russian regions and 20 countries. The book fair will celebrate the 100th birthday of Daniil Granin and the 2019 Year of Theater. The forum is organized by the Russian Book Union, the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media, and the Saint Petersburg Committee for Press and Mass Media Cooperation.
