Belarusian People's Congress hotline receives 420 phone calls

MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – We received 420 phones calls to the hotline set up during the Belarusian People's Congress, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said when speaking at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

People asked questions about the utility services, construction, social welfare, labor relations, said Vladimir Andreichenko.

He noted that people call not only to complain and criticize. “They also called to thank the authorities and some organizations for their assistance in solving their problems,” the Speaker stressed.

He also informed that 20 proposals came from the participants of the congress. They are about the career guidance of schoolchildren, the E-school project, social housing for soldiers-internationalists, nationwide clean-up days, landscaping of urban neighborhoods, collection of recyclables, the development and use of environmental packaging for food products.

There were proposals about setting up a council of young scientists at the Belarusian President or Parliament, which would generate and promote ideas and suggestions in various areas of economy.

“All the issues, proposals and wishes of our citizens will be considered and included in the outcome program documents,” Vladimir Andreichenko added.

The hotline of the 5th Belarusian People's Congress operated from 11h00 to 18h00 on 22 June and from 10h00 to 13h00 on 23 June.
