DOKSHITSKY DISTRICT, 29 December (BelTA) - The state pays great attention to orphans and children deprived of parental care, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told the media as he visited the Begoml auxiliary residential school in Dokshitsy District as part of the Our Children charity campaign, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Andreichenko, Our Children is a very kind campaign is which has become a signature tradition in the country. Vladimir Andreichenko has visited the Begoml auxiliary residential school for more than 10 years. “The school provides home to 96 kids. These are orphans and those who have been left without parental care. On the part of the state, they receive great attention in all areas: accommodation, education, and many other things," the speaker noted.
It is important that children feel confident of their future, find themselves in life, choose a profession and be useful to society. The state spends Br1,500per child per month. “Not every country has such a social policy," Vladimir Andreichenko said and added that all members of parliament participate in the Our Children campaign and visit children's homes and orphanages.
Vladimir Andreichenko wished the children that everything on their wish list come true. “We are looking forward to the New Year with hope for a miracle. I would like the year 2021 to be a year of creation, unity, and peace,” he said and thanked the teachers for their work.
Sponsors presented the Begoml school with a treadmill, two tennis tables, a washing machine, a TV set and money certificates.
The Begoml Begoml auxiliary residential school was opened on 12 September 1960. In 1974, it was transformed into an auxiliary residential school. The institution is open all year round. There are 96 pupils there, 19 of them are children with special needs. The children participate in district, regional and national competitions and contests, and win prizes.
The school has a gym, sewing and carpentry workshops, an agricultural room, a library, a computer lab, a medical center, a canteen, a social orientation room, an apartment room, social and psychological service rooms, a winter garden, and a laundry. There is also a pig farm, a year-round greenhouse, three hotbeds, and six hectares of farmland.
