Belarusian paratroopers arrive for exercise in Russia's Pskov Oblast

MOSCOW, 11 February (BelTA) - The 2020 first joint tactical exercise of the Russian Airborne Troops and the Special Operations Forces of Belarus will be held at the Strugi Krasnye and Zavelichye firing grounds in Russia's Pskov Oblast on 18-21 February, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said.

“A Belarusian delegation is expected to arrive today for participation in the exercise. A joint subdivision of the two countries' paratroopers will be formed for joint combat training,” the press service informed.

The exercise will involve more than 350 servicemen, approximately 100 units of military equipment of the Pskov Guards Air Assault Division and about 80 servicemen of the Independent Guards Air Assault Devision of the Special Operations Forces of Belarus deployed in Brest. Two helicopters Mi-24, 8 helicopters Mi-8, and four airlifters Il-76 will take part in the exercise.
