
MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Minsk and left a note in the condolence book for the victims of the earthquake, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We were devastated by the news of this tragedy of the Turkish people. In these days of mourning, Belarus stands in solidarity with the families of the victims, follows every news release from the affected regions with anxiety and hope. We sincerely wish a speedy recovery to all the victims, and to the friendly Turkish people - endurance and perseverance in this difficult time. I am confident that the courageous Turkish people will overcome the consequences of this devastating natural disaster," the minister wrote.
The minister of foreign affairs also had a brief conversation with Turkish Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mustafa Özcan. "The head of the Turkish diplomatic mission expressed appreciation to the Belarusian side for the sincere response and assistance, for sending, by the decision of the head of state, a response team of the Emergencies Ministry to Türkiye to conduct search and rescue operations and overcome the consequences of the disaster," the press service informed.
