Belarusian diplomats take part in war memorial opening ceremony in Moldova

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Moldova laid flowers at the memorial to the Soviet soldiers in the village of Ermoclia, Stefan Voda District, Moldova, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Chisinau.

The flower ceremony was held as part of an official ceremony to open the restored memorial to the Soviet soldiers. Attending the event were representatives of Moldova's Ministry of Defense, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, diplomats, local authorities, search groups, and also residents of the village of Ermoclia.

The attendees paid homage to the killed soldiers and emphasized the importance of preserving the historical truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War.

Among the names on the memorial are three Heroes of the Soviet Union who were killed in the battles on the territory of Moldova in 1944.
