Belarusian delegation participating in WHO Executive Board session in Geneva

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – A delegation representing Belarus' healthcare system is taking part in the 152nd session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry's Telegram channel.

There are 26 items on the session's agenda, including prevention of non-infectious diseases, infection control, liquidation of meningitis, rehabilitation, standardization of the nomenclature of medical goods and other items.

In his speech during the session Belarusian Deputy Healthcare Minister, Chief Sanitary Inspector Aleksandr Tarasenko noted: “The matter of public healthcare is particularly topical in today's turbulent world. Threats emerging in the area of healthcare only make negative trends in global politics worse and complicate sustainable development processes. It is important to pool efforts at the global level and the regional one in this field.”

In May 2021 Belarus was elected to the WHO Executive Board for the 2021-2024 period.
