Belarusian Defense Ministry approves plans on cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian Defense Ministry has approved plans on cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, BelTA has learned.

A meeting of defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States took place in Moscow. Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin represented the Belarusian delegation at the event.

The sides exchanged opinions about challenges and threats to military security and measures to neutralize them. Matters of interaction between the defense ministries in the multilateral format and the bilateral format were also discussed. Viktor Khrenin presented Belarus' stance on the matter. He evaluated the state and prospects of development of regional and international security.

Plans on bilateral cooperation of the Belarusian Defense Ministry with the defense ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan for the year 2023 were approved.
