Belarusian carpets gifted to Orthodox churches in France, Poland

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – On the initiative of the Belarusian Embassy in France, carpets made by the Belarusian company Vitebsk Carpets have been gifted to St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Nice, France and to Lodz Episcopate of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, BelTA has learned from the website of the embassy.

All in all, Belarus about 20 were donated during the event. Belarus' Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko, who also served as Ambassador to Poland, expressed gratitude to representatives of the afore-mentioned Orthodox churches for supporting Belarusians in France and Poland. The event was sponsored by the Belarusian companies which cooperate with France.

In September 2017, the Belarusian Embassy in France gave over 20 Belarusian-made carpets to Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church in Paris.
