Belarusian border checkpoints Bruzgi, Berestovitsa busy upgrading LANs

GRODNO, 13 November (BelTA) – The delivery of equipment to upgrade local area networks (LAN) at the border checkpoints Bruzgi and Berestovitsa at the Belarusian-Polish border has begun, representatives of the Grodno Regional Customs told BelTA.

The first batch of equipment has been delivered, including computers and other kinds of office appliances and equipment.

Complete modernization of the local area networks at border checkpoints at the Belarusian-Polish border is primarily designed to improve the security of storage and transfer of customs data and personal data of individuals, who cross the border.

Modernization is part of the large international technical aid project designed to improve border management operations at the automobile border checkpoints Bruzgi and Berestovitsa. It is financed by the transboundary cooperation program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine for the 2014-2020 period. The Grodno Regional Customs is the main beneficiary of the project. The European Union's total financial contribution to the modernization is close to €1 million.
