Belarusian artist honored with CIS Stars of the Commonwealth Award

MOSCOW, 22 May (BelTA) - The soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, People's Artist of Belarus Vladimir Gromov has been awarded the CIS Stars of the Commonwealth Award, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.

"The council for the interstate Stars of the Commonwealth Award has announced the winners of the CIS humanitarian award for 2022. The award is presented annually to representatives of the CIS in recognition of the most significant world-level humanitarian achievements which promote the development of every CIS member state and the CIS in general," the fund noted.

The jury, which is composed of prominent figures of culture and education from all CIS countries, has selected eight applicants from the shortlist. The winners in the nomination "For Outstanding Contribution to Culture and Art" are: People's Artist of Azerbaijan Dinara Aliyeva, People's Artist of Armenia Harutyun Khachatryan, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Azamat Zheltyrguzov, People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan Yuri Bokov, People's Artist of Russia Sergey Skripka, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Yodgor Sadiyev. Chief researcher of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Saidmukhamad Odinaev has been named the winner in the nomination "For outstanding contribution and achievements in science and education".

"This year, 16 people from eight countries have been nominated for the high award. The award is RUB2 million," the press service added.

The award ceremony will be held at the CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals in Bishkek on 11-15 September.
