GOMEL, 26 May (BelTA) – Participants of the training session “Military security and defense of the Republic of Belarus” examined primary and promising samples of weaponry and communications equipment, BelTA has learned.
Oblast governors and enlistment officers were made familiar with primary and promising samples of weaponry, military and special hardware, modern solutions for providing first aid at premises of a Belarusian army unit. Close attention was paid to unmanned aerial vehicles as well as technical solutions used by the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Participants of the training session also participated in a WW2 commemoration event. At the WW2 memorial complex Partisan Wellspring they paid a tribute of respect to those, who had fallen in the fight against Nazi invaders.
Parts of a fortified zone were demonstrated in a southern suburb of the city of Gomel as part of the training session.
Shooting practice using small arms and grenade launchers was part of the training session. It is supposed to improve shooting skills of the personnel. The best pistol shooters were named after a competition.
The annual training session “Military security and defense of the Republic of Belarus” began in Gomel on 26 May under the leadership of Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin. Heads of the oblast administrations and the Minsk city administration, chief enlistment officers of the regions and the capital city took part in the training session. The defense minister pointed out that taking into account the situation along the external perimeter territorial defense is transforming from a support system to a full-value combat system.
