Belarus' visa-free entry rules for athletics fans explained

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – The Internal Affairs Ministry of Belarus explained the country's visa-free entry rules set by Decree No.308 “On the organization of The Match Europe v USA”, BelTA learned from the website of the ministry.

The Match Europe v USA will take place at Minsk's Dinamo Stadium on 9-10 September 2019. Each team will comprise 152 athletes who will compete in 37 events.

Visa-free entry and exit as well as temporary stay in the country will be valid from 1 to 20 September regardless of the transport sport fans choose. To take advantage of visa-free travel opportunities, one should have a valid passport and a ticket for the match or its electronic copy. Citizens of 74 countries can travel to Belarus visa-free. For others, the ticket to the event or its electronic copy will be enough for obtaining the Belarusian visa.

According to the ministry, tourists who temporary enter Belarus can register online. The main condition is to enter the country via any checkpoint on the Belarusian state border. The service is exempted from state duties.

Visa-free entry rules are also valid from 9 to 18 September for participants of the bike festival (the event will take place in Minsk on 13-14 September). In order to enter the country visa-free travelers need a valid passport and a ticket for the event or electronic copy acquired on the website Ticketpro.by. The information provided by the organizer of the event (OOO Moto Event) to the State Customs Committee of Belarus also guarantees the official participants of the festival a visa-free entry to the country.
