MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - Representatives of the Belarusian border service won the team gold at the 14th international canine biathlon competition in Latvia, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.
The team of the Belarusian State Border Committee comprised servicemen of the Lida border unit and the Brest border group.
As part of the competition canine specialists had to cross 10km of rough terrain, including a water obstacle of 200 meters, apprehend border trespassers, and go through mazes and tunnels in addition to climbing stairs.
The competition took place at premises of the State Border Guard College in the city of Rezekne, Latvia. The competition gathered nearly 75 dog handlers and their dogs.
